It’s been 5 years since I was diagnosed with my last autoimmune disease Scleroderma. Those next six months after that diagnosis were spent in bed fighting for my life. Now, 5 years later my health is returned and I am filled with gratitude! I am so thankful to be able to share with you the 7 Things that Helped me Heal my 7 Autoimmune Diseases!
It wasn’t an easy journey and I am still on the journey. I made mistakes, felt discouraged, gave up hope, and yet still kept pressing on to find the research and products that would help me recover. I am so excited to share with you my long-fought-for successes! I still have 7 autoimmune diseases but I am so thankful I have learned how to manage them.

Christ-Centered Slow Living
I used to be busy but having 7 autoimmune diseases stopped that. Learning how to say NO and adopting a slow living lifestyle has been my favorite part of the journey! I learned to be gentle with myself. My life is so much better and enjoyable now. My relationships are better, my spiritual life is better, and my quality of life is better. Learning how to simplify has been a joy and produced much fruit!
Faith
Addressing past hurts and abuses with God has been painful and yet has set me FREE. Instead of unhealthy self-sabotaging behaviors, I now go to Jesus and seek wisdom and healing through His Word and his presence. I took a six-month Bible Study at my church called Transformational Healing based on the practices of Terry Wardle. This was a catalyst for internal healing and establishing new life-giving habits.

Walking
For the record, I strongly dislike exercise of any kind. Walking is gentle on the body and is anti-inflammatory! You can make it a social activity or listen to a sermon, music, or podcast while you do it. Getting outside even in inclement weather is good for you. You also may want to check out Holy Yoga. Truthfully, I still don’t like to exercise but this has been a game-changer for me!
Family
Battling a life-threatening disease is hard on everyone. Telling the truth about how you feel and asking for help can be excruciatingly hard. I have been blessed beyond measure by my husband who has tirelessly served me and by my six children who have done the same. I know having a supportive family has spurred me toward healing and wellness. What do you do if this is not your case? What if you are alone? Go to Jesus and ask for wisdom and then call your Church and ask for help. God is the great provider and he will provide for all your needs. He is also a great healer!
Essential Oils
I began my essential oil journey five years ago out of sheer desperation. I had just been told I could not take the medication my Rheumatologist prescribed because a side effect of the med was blindness, and I already had glaucoma so it was too great a risk. I began researching essential oils, I have trust issues by nature so when I say research, I mean research! I was actually losing sleep over which essential oil company to choose. But in the end, it came down to 100 percent pure and third-party testing. I started with these essential oils. Essential oils have become my go-to for every health and emotional wellness I have. They have empowered me to be my own health advocate and I have successfully used them to heal my body, prevent illness, and reduce inflammation! I use them every single day as a part of my self-care routine.
Autoimmune Protocol Diet
Like it or lump it the food we eat can make us sick. Food also has the power to heal. God in his infinite wisdom gave us clear direction in Scripture on how to live a healthy life. He loves us, that is plainly clear. In Ezekiel 47:12 God gives us a beautiful picture of health and wellness. “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.” An autoimmune protocol diet is a food-based approach to eliminating unwanted inflammation in a person’s body.
