We had a ton of fun making these DIY Fall Decor Acorn Orbs!
A few months ago while on an evening walk with my husband, we were walking on the campus of our hometown’s college. I found the MOTHER LOAD of acorns! Right in front of Towers Hall! Luckily, it was late summer and students were not on campus yet so I convinced my husband to go for another evening walk so we could collect my acorns. We collected 3 grocery bags full! (more acorn projects to come in the future)!
Armed with acorns in hand we set off to make our simple Fall DIY Acorn Balls…I would like to thank my daughter Hannah for heading up this easy Autumn home decor project. Hannah, you did a great job figuring this out from my initial idea! It is great to have talented children.

DIY Fall Decor Acorn Orbs
SUPPLIES
various sizes of circle foam balls
brown spray paint
glue sticks
acorns
Directions
1. Take a Fall walk and collect acorns…small acorns work best!
2. Spray-paint foam balls brown. Make sure you wear a mask.
3. Using a hot glue gun, glue on acorns starting at the top of the ball and attach each acorn in a circular pattern. If you are doing this project with young children use craft glue instead of a glue gun to avoid burns. Press each acorn deeply into the foam balls making an impression in the foam. *WARNING Do not let young children use a hot glue gun.
I hope you will enjoy making this LOVELY Fall DIY Project!
