I have written of my lifelong battle with anxiety a few times here at The Peaceful Haven. Not a lot though because it is hard to talk about. I still feel embarrassed about it, which I know I shouldn’t, but well, I do. I am a work in progress. I do, however, want to share with you things that have helped me in my healing journey. I am excited to share with you today 10 Necessary Essential Oils For Emotional Wellbeing!
I like using essential oils for three reasons…
- They are 100 percent natural and safe.
- They are more effective than many modern approaches to health problems. There are no side effects only side benefits!
- They are cheaper than traditional medical care.
10 Necessary Essential Oils For Emotional Wellbeing
Ylang Ylang
In aromatherapy, Ylang Ylang oil is used to lessen tension and stress and to promote a positive outlook. Ylang Ylang oil is frequently used in luxurious hair and skin products for its scent and nourishing and protective properties. Taken internally, Ylang Ylang provides antioxidant support. Ylang Ylang essential oil blends well with Bergamot, Geranium, Grapefruit, and Vetiver.
Lavender
Its calming and relaxing qualities, when taken internally, continue to be Lavender’s most notable attributes. Applied topically, Lavender oil is frequently used to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. Add to bath water to soak away stress or apply to the temples and the back of the neck.
Adaptive
When stress and tension seem to be relentless, Adaptiv Calming Blend is my go-to solution. Use Adaptiv to help get comfortable with new surroundings or situations. In preliminary studies, the scent of Lavender, a main ingredient of Adaptiv, has been found to contribute to an environment conducive to performing tasks requiring sustained attention. Lavender, Magnolia, Neroli, and Sweetgum provide stress-relieving effects while Wild Orange and Spearmint energize and uplift. Copaiba and Rosemary soothe anxious feelings to round out the calming blend. Whether you’re feeling fatigued or restless, indecisive or irritable, Adaptiv Calming Blend is part of the toolbox to help the body and mind to stay balanced.
Vetiver
Vetiver oil has a rich, exotic, complex aroma that is used extensively in perfumes. Due to Vetiver essential oil’s calming and grounding aroma, it is an ideal oil to use in massage therapy. It can also be rubbed on the feet before bedtime to prepare for a restful night’s sleep. I have found Vetiver very helpful for reducing anxious feelings in my daughter who is autistic.
Jasmine
Jasmine can be applied to pulse points for a calming, yet euphoric aroma that uplifts mood and promotes a positive outlook. I carry this in my purse at all times and use it in a roll-on form as a way to calm myself in anxious and overwhelming situations around town.
Bergamot
With both calming and uplifting abilities, Bergamot oil can dissipate anxious feelings while simultaneously providing cleansing and purifying benefits. Bergamot essential oil is unique among citrus oils due to its ability to be both uplifting and calming, making it ideal to help with anxious and sad feelings. It is also purifying and cleansing for the skin while having a calming effect.
Serenity
Serenity Restful Blend has a calming and relaxing aroma that provides a unique user experience. This perfectly balanced, tranquil blend can be sensed immediately, transporting the user to a state of blissful repose. Serenity blend combines essential oils renowned for their ability to create a restful environment at bedtime.
Roman Chamomile
I love Roman Chamomile so much I also grow it in my garden! Roman Chamomile grows close to the ground, reaching only up to a foot in height. It has gray-green leaves, flowers that resemble a daisy, and smells like an apple. The plant has been nicknamed the “plant’s physician” because it has positive effects on plants growing nearby. Ancient Romans used Roman Chamomile oil for courage during war. While the most common use of chamomile is in teas, Roman Chamomile essential oil is known for its calming effect on the skin, mind, and body.
Rose
Rosa damascena, more commonly known as the Damask rose, is a small shrub with thorny stems. The labor-intensive production process has a very low yield; takes more than 10,000 freshly picked rose blossoms to produce only one 5mL bottle of Rose essential oil. Because Rose petals are so delicate, the distillation process must happen the same day that the flower is harvested. Diffuse Rose oil to uplift your spirits; the blooming floral fragrance brings about feelings of love, care, and comfort.
Clary Sage
Clary Sage is a biennial or perennial herb that grows up to six feet in height. Clary Sage oil is known for its calming properties. The main chemical component of Clary Sage oil is linalyl acetate, part of the esters group, making it one of the most relaxing, soothing, and balancing essential oils. In the Middle Ages, the Clary Sage plant was frequently used to soothe skin. Inhaling Clary Sage essential oil adds to a relaxing environment, and internal use promotes a restful night’s sleep. I also use this for balancing my hormones!
I hope you will enjoy and use these powerful essential oils and maybe consider planting a few in your garden!
