As a mom of six kids, it could be said that on some days peace is hard to find around here. That said, God created us in amazing ways! It has been my experience that I can calm my children down using a simple diffuser and a specially chosen essential oil. Emotions can run high and sibling rivalry crops up from time to time but I find that if we can de-escalate the situation peace is sure to follow. Here are 5 Essential Oils That Will Make Your Home A Peaceful Haven!
God created the human body with an olfactory system that allows us to smell, and our emotions can be affected positively or negatively depending on the scent. The primary limbic system function is to process and regulate emotion, memory, and learning. Behavior, motivation, long-term memory, and sense of smell also relate to the limbic system and its sphere of influence. As moms, we can enhance the atmosphere of our home through the use of essential oils.

One of my favorite essential oil stories took place at a slumber party. You know how a group of girls can get! I told them it was time to go to bed and put on the diffuser filled with lavender essential oil. I honestly did not think it could possibly help. I came back in half an hour and they were all asleep! Something for every mother’s tool chest!
When we breathe in natural compounds from essential oils they hit our olfactory nerve and the olfactory nerve sends signals to the limbic system which in turn sends signals to the rest of our body. This can happen in as little as 30 seconds!
