Simple Cost-Effective DIY Dishwasher Tabs are my kind of project. Why? Because I get to create something beneficial and save money at the same time. Make these non-toxic natural dishwasher tablets by following this simple step-by-step recipe. This DIY contains the disinfecting power of On Guard and Grapefruit essential oils, leaving your dishes sanitized and smelling delightful.
On Guard is a group of essential oils that include Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary.
Simple Cost Effective DIY Dishwasher Tabs
Ingredients
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1 tablespoon On Guard Cleaner Concentrate
5 drops Grapefruit oil
- A silicone mold of some sort
DIRECTIONS
- Put baking soda, citric acid, On Guard Cleaner Concentrate, and Grapefruit oil in a mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until the mixture has an even consistency.
- Place in silicon molds and let sit for four hours. Remove tabs.
- Store the Dishwasher Tabs in an airtight container
This recipe makes about 12–18 tablets, I like to double the recipe. I use a silicone ice cube tray, but any silicone mold tray that produces tablets between an inch and a half to two inches will work. The size of each tablet doesn’t need to be exact.
Money Saving Tip
Add one cup of white vinegar to the rinse agent compartment in your dishwasher. This will ensure that your glassware comes out of the dishwasher sparkling!
Peacefully Yours,
Janelle
