Christmas really is the most wonderful time of year and I am so excited to share with you, my favorite Advent Devotionals for women.
Honestly, Christmas can bring all sorts of feelings to the forefront of our souls. For some it truly is wonderful, however, for others, it can be agony. So the question becomes how can I experience the peace of God this season? I believe that in order to do that we must not lose our focus. Losing one’s focus means chaos is sure to ensue. One of the ways I “Stress Less” at Christmas and prepare my heart is to make sure I am daily in the Word of God. Christmas is the Birthday of Jesus Christ the very Son of God! Focusing on this truth allows me to walk in peace.
Won’t you join me?
My Favorite Advent Devotionals For Women
In Unwrapping the Names of Jesus, Asheritah Ciuciu leads readers through the four weeks of Advent (Hope, Preparation, Joy, and Love).
Each week:
- Begins with an interactive family devotional that equips readers to celebrate Advent together
- Offers five daily reflections that focus on that week’s name of Jesus
- Includes suggestions for fun-filled family activities or service projects
An added bonus is that you can do this daily devotional yourself and then include your family as well!
Come Let Us Adore Him The wonder and awe of the Christmas season can easily get overshadowed by lights, tinsel, bows, and paper—not to mention last-minute trips to the mall and visits to the in-laws. In all the hustle and bustle, we often lose sight of what’s most important. This book of daily readings for December by best-selling author Paul David Tripp will help you slow down, prepare your heart, and focus on what matters most: adoring our Savior, Jesus.
You don’t want to miss Hidden Christmas by Timothy Keller. Timothy Keller takes readers on an illuminating journey into the surprising background of the nativity. By understanding the message of hope and salvation within the Bible’s account of Jesus’ birth, readers will experience the redeeming power of God’s grace in a deeper and more meaningful way.
I had not heard of this ancient practice until a few years ago when I received a gift from a friend, a book. This very unique and special devotional book is called Christmastide: Prayers for Advent Through Epiphany from The Divine Hours. I love the idea of joining in prayer with other believers around the world! We are all praying in our time zones and thus covering every single hour that passes by in prayer. We are changing the whole world for the better and we are transforming ourselves and our families!
Making Room in Advent – 25 Devotions for a Season of Wonder
Preparation for the Christmas season can often feel busy and frantic, but it doesn’t have to be this way. What if we stopped and listened to the movement and unfolding of God’s plan around us? Making Room in Advent is an invitation away from the chaos and into the space where God is at work.
I invite you to do something different this year and prepare your hearts for the birth of Christ with focused attention on the Word of God.
