Reading a book is a peaceful experience for me.  When I read aloud to my children the atmosphere completely changes into one of quiet joy. Reading well-written, uplifting books that point to God is good medicine for the soul.  Comforting Fiction Books For Difficult Times will help you to see God in the dark seasons of life that we all go through.

The criteria for this booklist is nothing other than what has brought my family peace in uncertain times. These books are old friends and have been read and reread over and over.   I suppose that is the test of a good book. It is my sincerest prayer, that you will ENJOY these books and they will become treasures!

Many of the books on this list are for children, however,  I highly recommend you read them again as an adult.  They will spark the magic of childhood in your heart and encourage and uplift you! As the great C. S. Lewis wrote, “No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is not equally (and often far more) worth reading at the age of fifty.”  For the record, I completely agree!

Happy reading my friends!
