Frankincense is mentioned 21 times in the Bible! In my opinion, it is the Holy Grail of Essential Oils. I love that God chose to describe this most ancient of scents in His Word and it also causes me to wonder WHY?
I believe that God is the ultimate healer and provider and He loves His precious children. I believe that the Bible is true and sufficient. Even in the area of teaching us how to care for our bodies. In the Bible, essential oils were used for three main areas of life. They were used as a component of worshiping God. Oils were used for nurturing the human body and to help maintain good health. I find it amazing that at the birth of God’s one and only Son Jesus, two of the gifts for his provision were essential oils. One of which was Frankincense. There are spiritual implications to these three gifts but also practical wisdom as well.
Frankincense is known as one of the most prized and precious essential oils, Frankincense has extraordinary health benefits. In addition to its frequency in the New Testament, the Babylonians and Assyrians would burn Frankincense in religious ceremonies and the ancient Egyptians used Frankincense resin for everything from perfume to salves for soothing skin. This interesting knowledge from centuries of old contributes to the modern uses of Frankincense today. Its soothing and beautifying properties are used to refresh skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections.
As the king of oils, Frankincense is known to support healthy cellular function and promote a healthy inflammatory response! When inhaled or diffused, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace, rest, satisfaction, and overall wellness.

I hope that you will make Frankincense a part of your daily health and beauty routine. I personally use it in two ways daily. Firstly, I apply one drop to the bottom center of each foot and massage it in. I also use a product called Immortelle on my face that has Frankincense essential oil in it, as you can imagine Immortelle helps reduce the signs of wrinkles and skin imperfections.
