  4. I went to floral school to learn the rules even though I have been making wreaths and arrangements for nearly 60 years. What I don’t see on videos and blogs is the “hide your mechanics” rule. You cover your foam with moss. I have asthma and can’t stand the smell of moss, so I use excelsor.

    1. Thank you so much for the tip MG! I appreciate you!

  5. Hydrogen peroxide is helpful when added to hydrangeas in a vase helps them last longer a d keeps mold and iky stuff from growing in the vase, you can always try cutting the hydrangeas at a slant and dipping the stems in alum (the spice u use to make pickles!) It causes a puckering action in the stem so to speak, and allows major water absorbing thru the stem and flower! When using them outside in weddings or dinners literally “dunk” the whole stem and flower in water efore arranging they are one of the few flowers that take water thru flowerbuds stems and leaves!! Hope this helps!
