What to do with all that zucchini?  This is a question that people have been asking each other for generations!  We all LOVE zucchini but eating it every night for a month can be a struggle.  The excitement over the first zucchini of the season has long since past as we enter into August.

As a side note, I laughed my way through the research for this gripping post and am excited to present the BEST ideas!

5 Ways To Get Rid Of Zucchini

  • Grate the zucchini and freeze in 1 cup portions.  Thaw and drain the grated zucchini before using it.  My favorite way to use grated zucchini is to hide it in a large pot of crockpot chili…YUM!
  • Instead of playing “Mr. Potato Head” have fun playing “Mr. Zucchini Head”.  Use the plastic parts from the game and stick them into the fresh zucchini.  The kids are going to love this idea!
  • OK, this is probably the most common idea but my favorite way to use up zucchini is to make zucchini bread.  You can use the zucchini fresh or use the bags of grated frozen zucchini.  My favorite recipe is chocolate chip zucchini bread!
  • My Mom and a few friends grow a garden every year and give away the produce to our local food pantry!  Yep, they have been helping to feed our community for quite a few years now.
  • Now for the most inventive way to get rid of zucchini, play baseball.  Instead of using a wooden bat use a large zucchini.  This idea has made it onto my bucket list.  I can’t wait to try a game of zucchini baseball!!

Who knew getting rid of zucchini could be so fun and delicious?
