Do you know the difference between a crisp, cobbler, or a crumble? Today, we will be talking about a Chrisp! A crisp is a baked fruit dessert topped with a crunchy layer of ingredients usually including oatmeal and sugar. Today, I am excited to share with you our recipe for Gluten Free AIP Berry Chrisp!
One of the main reasons I love berries is because they are chocked full of nutrients and well, they absolutely taste amazing! I grow several varieties in my garden, which is incredibly handy for making a good old-fashioned Chrisp!

- Vitamin K1: 25% of the RDI
- Copper: 8% of the RDI
- Folate: 6% of the RDI
Gluten-Free AIP Berry Chrisp
serves 6
Ingredients
5 cups fresh or frozen berries (you can use just one berry or a combination)
2 tsp lemon juice
1 TBS. tapioca starch
Chrisp Ingredients
1 cup finely shredded unsweetened coconut
½ cup coconut flour
1/4 cup tiger nut flour
4 TBS. tapioca starch
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
¼ cup maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a glass or castiron 8×8″ baking pan.
- Combine the blueberries, lemon juice, and tapioca in the baking pan. Stir gently and then put in the oven until the berries start to bubble.
- To make the crisp, combine the coconut flour, tiger nut flour, shredded coconut, and tapioca starch and whisk together in a medium-sized bowl. Mix in the remainder of the ingredients until well incorporated.
- Remove the berries from the oven.
- Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the berries.
- Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is lightly golden in color.
