I am turning 50 this year…
So to say that my mind has turned to thoughts of how to age well or how to look younger than you really are maybe a slight understatement. No matter what age you are if you are a girl, you care about being beautiful. I have read a plethora of books on the subject and have learned a few things that I am excited to share with you!
Let’s start with a firm foundation. Why does one want to age well? For me, it is very important because I want to serve God all the days of my life. My body is a holy temple and God has called me to serve Him. I want to be in a place to be able to do the things He wants me to do. I am also a married woman who wants to be beautiful in my husband’s eyes, please my husband, and serve him.
The key to looking younger
than you really are, is not found on the outside
of your body. It starts from within,
with your attitude and the
things you believe in.
How to Look Younger Than You Really Are
Do not get plastic surgery. Everyone can tell if you have had work done! There is nothing sadder than a woman who thinks she has to have Botox or plastic surgery to stay beautiful.
Pray for good health.
Wash your skin with a moisturizing cleanser and exfoliate with a washcloth.
Never complain.
Do not wear thick foundation or too much blush. Light makeup is best.
Have a biblical view of what beauty is. Sarah in the Bible was always considered beautiful even at age 100!
Always have a book you are reading.
Make sure your eyebrows are the right shape for your face.
Walk daily.
Don’t use creamy eyeshadow that settles in the creases of your eyes.
Eat a Mediterranean diet.
Don’t use too much mascara and put it only on your top lashes. Put a thick line of eyeliner (the color of your hair) on the base of your eyelid.
Make sure to get 8 to 10 hours of sleep a night.
Take your vitamins.
Moisturize your whole body on a daily basis with non-petroleum lotion.
Eat wild blueberries.
Be involved in a ministry that serves others.
Do not wear lip liner that is obvious or super shiny lip gloss.
Do not retire from serving God.
Dress for your age and do not borrow anything from your daughter. (A woman looks silly when she tries to dress younger than she is.)
Grey hair is lovely, embrace it, and make sure it is styled nicely.
Stay curious and be a lifelong learner.
Brush and floss your teeth.
Love your body just the way God created it.
Wear a moisturizer with SPF in it daily.
Challenge yourself to learn new things.
Drink a glass of organic grape juice every single day.
Laugh daily.
Charm is deceitful,
and beauty is vain, but a
woman who fears the Lord
is to be praised.

Janelle, I really love that you intermingled food, and makeup and faith, and more. It is a mixture of a lot of different things to look and feel young. I too want to be able to do the work God wants me to do which is a big motivation for me to eat and be healthy. Unfortunately I did damage to my body when I was sick. I am glad that the aging has slowed done, but that is ok. I do the best I can with what I have. Thanks so much for linking up at Let’s Get Real
Great tips and what a beautiful photo!
