Looking for a simple Valentine’s Day activity that your whole family can participate in? I am excited to share this charming kid-friendly Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath! Everyone in the family can participate no matter what the age. Make individual hearts or work together to create one for home display!
I love PRETTY!
I love CHILD-FRIENDLY!
I love EASY!
The ideas for this cute Valentine’s Day heart wreath came from Soccer Mom Style! As with all of “my DIY ” projects I have adapted the original project to use what I have on hand.
This child-friendly project would make a great Mom and child Valentine’s Day activity or an equally great after-school craft. The idea is to do it together and have LOTS and LOTS of FUN!
Put on some music and let’s have some family time!
Kid-Friendly Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath
SUPPLIES
cardboard
scissors
stapler
coffee filters
raffia
pink or red paint (or use food coloring)
glass bowl
water
DIRECTIONS
1. Place coffee filters upside down in a glass bowl filled with paint an inch of water. Let the coffee filters absorb the color and then remove them from the bowl and let dry overnight (or blow dry them).
2. Cut a heart out of cardboard. You pick the size…
3. Staple the coffee filters close together onto the cardboard wreath form.
4. Staple raffia on the back to form a hanger.
5. Hang it up and ENJOY!
YOUR TURN…
What is a fun Valentine’s Day activity you do with your children?
Blessings,
That’s really cute, Janelle. I’ll have to pick up some coffee filters (Knew I should have saved those old ones!)
Just when you think you won’t need them! I am the same way…thank you for your comment!
What a fun project.
Thank you! It was really quick and easy!
That’s so cute! Not sure about “child-friendly,” though. I can only imagine how long that would last in my house with my toddler 🙂
Well…I might agree with really little ones 🙂
Keep up the good work! Thanks.
Thank you, I hope you enjoy the project!
