Oh, I love a sunny day! I try to get outside and soak in all that good vitamin D! The only problem about a gorgeous sunny day is that it can damage your hair and skin. Too much sun and your hair turns dry and brittle. The good news is you can use sunscreen to protect your hair, just like the rest of your body. Non-toxic sunblocks that contain SPF help to block harmful UVB and UVA rays. Protect Your Hair From Sun Damage and Make this Easy DIY Hair Spray.
My homemade products are non-toxic and GOOD for you. This simple DIY dilutes sunscreen for easy application and contains Rosemary oil, known for its renewing properties which promote full, healthy-looking hair. Mix up this simple recipe the next time you head outside to the garden or go to the pool for extra protection.
Protect Your Hair From Sun Damage
DIY Hair Spray
- To dilute, stir two teaspoons of SPF 25 sunscreen into a cup of water.
- Add 3–4 drops of Rosemary essential oil and stir.
- Add 1 drop of Lavender essential oil and stir again.
- Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spritz on your hair before entering the sun or the pool to protect your color and shine.
- Since the oil and water will separate, be sure to shake well before each use.
Sunlight, specifically ultraviolet (UV) rays, damages hair, plain and simple. The sun while healthy, weakens the structure of your hair which causes dryness, and fades color and brittleness. Never fear this inexpensive hair spray will help!
