I know this is going to sound weird but the season of Lent is one of my very favorite times of the year, possibly because of the anticipation of Easter! We don’t view it as a sacrifice but a chance to participate in the beauty of Lent, a time to rest in the arms of Jesus in sweet fellowship. Daily rhythms when I can slow down and prioritize spending more time with God which makes me very happy! I’m excited to share with you Simple Ways To Enhance The Beauty Of Lent!
Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and giving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Maundy /Holy Thursday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate Jesus’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading the Bible, and we serve and practice self-control through fasting. We are not just called to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully.
Oh, what a beautiful time Lent is in that it allows us time and space to apply Spiritual Disciplines in order that we may become strong in our faith, gain wisdom, become courageous in our witness, and be persistent in doing good.
