12 Encouraging Bible Verses For New Moms
I have six children. Count them…six. I am blessed beyond measure. I am so excited to share with you 12 Encouraging Bible Verses For New Moms! These verses are close to my heart and still bring me comfort and peace.
I have always wanted a large family, it is a dream that God has fulfilled so sweetly. Now my youngest is 18 and I can hardly believe where the time went. You know how everyone always tells you to treasure every moment because it goes by fast, well it does. That fact doesn’t take away the crazy challenges of being a new mom. Some women I know have absolutely no problem at all making the transition into motherhood. As, much as I wanted to be one of those serene, confident, women, I wasn’t.
Every one of my children’s birth had complications and included bed-rest. I struggled and sloshed through postpartum depression with two of my pregnancies. My deliveries included tearing and hemorrhaging. I was so far removed from the strong women who were able to pop out a child single-handedly. As with any other time in my life when I have faced difficult trials, I turned to the truth of God’s Word. Jesus’s comforting words renewed and soothed my tired mind, body, and spirit like nothing else in this world can.
I share with you a few of my favorite scripture verses that truly encouraged me in the early days of motherhood. I pray they will be the same for you.

John 16:21
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

“And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
2 Corinthians 12:9a
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
