Being invited to friends’ and family’s homes for Thanksgiving is a beautiful thing!  Shared memories and lots of laughter define the holidays.   While it is polite to bring food to share for the occasion, going the extra mile and giving your hostess a gift is a reward for all her hard work, which is thoughtful and always appreciated.  I have scoured the internet to bring you the best of the best ideas for Thanksgiving Hostess Gifts!

First off on the list of praiseworthy hostess gifts comes from The Peaceful Haven, that would be me.  Bring a basket of food items artfully displayed in a wicker basket to say thank you.  This idea is a wonderful blessing for a large family.  I also like this concept because it takes absolutely no “craftiness” or “artistic ability” to prepare.  Fill the basket with fresh fruit and vegetables and then place them in products that you know your host family loves.

EASY Thanksgiving Hostess Gifts

Second, on the list is this FREE printable from She Wears Many Hats.  This project is quick and easy.  Fill up a cellophane bag with cookies and tie the bag with raphia and add this charming FREE tag.  Who doesn’t love cookies?  If you don’t have cellophane bags on hand you could substitute a brown lunch bag.

Banana bread and honey butter hostess gift

Next on the list of excellent Hostess Gifts is from Jenny Steffens at Everyday Occasions. This is a charming basket filled with coffee, banana bread, and honey butter.  Find a basket approximately 8″x8″ in size and fill with these delicious treats.  Jenny has an excellent banana bread recipe.  If you are looking for an allergy-friendly banana bread recipe check out my Paleo Banana Bread!

CitrusGingerScents

This next Hostess Gift made the list because it is very easy to make and your children can do this project with minimal supervision.  Ginger Cinnamon Citrus Simmering Spices sounds amazing and can’t you just imagine how good this will smell?  Many thanks to Tina at Tattered Sisters for this easy and beautiful project!

Don’t you just love talented bloggers?  I really appreciate Purl Soho and all the amazing projects they provide.   When I saw these leaf coasters made from felt I knew I had to include them!  Inexpensive to make and you just need to know how to cut and hand sew!  This would make a great project for kids who are learning how to sew too!

  1. Janelle, these are great ideas! I also like to take a Holiday scented candle. I saw that at Michael’s they have scented candles on sale on Wednesdays 3 for $10. I picked a few up, and they smell great!
